Noise-cancelling headphones for my iPad 2

    Hi there!

I recently bought an iPad 2 and i'm loving it. i can't wait for the next updates to come and i hope i won't be dissapointed with my purchase.

But now i'm looking for a good noise-cancelling headphones to support my iPad 2 and one that i can wear when travelling on a train or plane.

It has got to be foldable, not too bulky, with an "active" noise cancelling and with a budget of not more than £200.

    Any suggestions guys please?

Do they have to be headphones? Have you considered in-ear ones?

I have a pair of Shure's and they work great at blocking out noise with the expanding foam tips.

    hello Gino

If i was in your place with a budget of £200, I would buy Dr. Dre headphones. Check out beatsbydre website. Definitely worth every penny.

You can get them for £127 from Boots, and if you want to get custom molds (complete isolation from outside noise), that's an extra £70 or so. But apparently the tips are very good.

I've had custom molds due to being a musician, and had the previous version of the T-15s for about 5 years. Absolutely fantastic. The T-15's blow a £300 pair of Sennheisers out the water.

Interesting, I was looking to upgrade my Shure's as they're getting a bit old and was considering another pair of Shure's, 425s maybe, but will take a look at the ones you're suggested.

Re: Noise-cancelling headphones for my iPad 2

I got my pair today, and I can't speak highly enough of them. I was mildly annoyed that seemingly my custom molds are an old version they don't support any more, so I'd need to get a new set, BUT, they come with a two triple-flanged set of tips, one bigger and one smaller, as well single flanged tips.
The triple tips instantly fit snugly into my (weird shaped) ears, and are very comfy. I had complete isolation from the outside world, even on just under half-volume on my phone. I had to mess about with the EQ on PowerAmp on Android to get it sounding better, but only cos I'd customised it to my custom molds.

My advice would be for everyone to buy them. They're literally amazing. This review says they easily compare to a dual-driver set twice the price. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Plus you'll save £170

Search online for noise canceling headsets. I think you'll find the reviews very useful.
