Right, Here we go, this is my first SLR and I only have the 70 -300 lens (waiting for the kit lens to come into stock)
I took this 'candid' shot whilst out at Hastings, just thought the boys bike was a bit different (wooden)
and Two close ups:
This scary fella was in the middle of a meal!!
I'm pleased with the quality, although suprised as to how difficult it is hand holding the lens at full legnth still!!!
You do need plenty of light to keep the Shutter speed high enough to reduce blur!!
I welcome your comments/tips![]()
Second picture is amazing, great focus and depth of field. I can see it getting published in a magazine so make sure you send it off.
There is slightly too much going on in your first pic though. It would have been better if you could have gotten closer to the kid.
Thanks for the comments Nick, I was a bit concerned about getting any closer, how do people genrally react about you taking their/their kids photo?
I generally don't like to take pictures of children unless they are related to you etc.
I can imagine adults might be concerned about someone random walking up and snapping pictures of their child.
In France actually you need to get permission from anyone before you take a picture of them. I'm glad the same rule does not apply here in the UK.
Hmmmmm, I think you are probably right, thinking about it more, If it were my child I would probably be concerned - such a shame that society has to be like this![]()
if i want to take a pic of a kid that is unknown to me i track down the parents - hand over a business card and ask if they mind if i take a pic of their kid..
i know i'd want to know where a pic of my kids was going..
its not just about paedophiles - but some people have had to move location because their partner has been violent toward them etc and you could be someone tracking them down etc.. when i was taking pics @ Max's Football Club i had to get signed permission from each of the parents so that they could be posted on the web and used in publicity etc (model release form) any parent who didn't sign a form, i missed out their child from the photos
