    digital camera advice

Hi i am on a lookout for the best all round digital camera for around £150 max.

I want a camera that is brillient and low light shots, has a decent shutter speed, brillient outdoor shots and a view finder..

i have been looking at the samsung s850 camera from argos which is only £100 and was wondering what you guys think?

Why do you need a viewfinder? i can recommend the Fuji Finepix F20/30 if you can live without a viewfinder.

These two are your best bets.

    F30 has more features.

You can get close to 500 shots on the f30 on one battery charge.

i noticed that the f30 doesnt have sd slot but the f40 does. what are the main differences between the two besides the larger MP and sd slot on the f40?

I am thinking of getting a fairly cheap decent camera as well. I was looking into Canon Powershot A550/A560. They have a viewfinder and use AA batteries instead of an internal one. Also uses SD cards as well. There's currently an A550 for sale in the "For Sale" forum here for £80 which is why I started looking into them.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt; then it's bloody hilarious!

How about something second hand? You can pick up a Canon G5 pretty cheap if you hit it at the right time....my wife's got one, and it's a solid little piece of kit (although not that little compared to some of the micros out there)

You get really nice colour from fuji, I wouldnt worry about battery life either.

I have a TZ3 from panasonic and although the 10x zoom is nice the photos just dont look as nice
    as my parents Fuji F10.

Aye, second-hand is probably the way to go. Everyone pays through the roof because they want the maximum number of megapixels (these days, just as much of a myth as megahertz when it comes to quality), when in fact a decent quality second-hand camera can be better still.

Canon are the way to go, IMO. Big fan myself I've never seen them do less than average quality.

There's another review of the F40 here, if you're still considering your purchase:
