work contracts
i finally got myself a decent paying job
got the contract through today and theres a few things im not sure about, obviously im gonna call them tomorrow, but they have stated i will be working a 40hr week but they have not stated what time i start work, how long lunch break is, if the lunch break is included in the 40hrs. Its annual pay rather than hourly and im not really familar with contracts so any advice would be greatly appreciated

why? A 40 hour week is perfectly reasonable. If you check you might find its actually a 35 hour week. If youre salaried rather than per hour it doesnt make a difference though really. What are the holidays like? You might find you have to work less than most of us that do a 35 hour (paid) week

If its flexi-time you need to know what your "core" hours are...
DO you need to be working at any certain times, I worked flexi time for Lloyds TSB and we had to be in between 10-12 and 2-4 and make up the rest. I work a 37.5 hour week at the moment... don't get paid for lunch so that's a 9.00 - 5.30

out of interest, what job have you been offered?
if it's a good job and the salary is fine, then the extra hours might be a benefit

40 hours excluding lunch is pretty normal. You should still take a lunch break, you just won't get paid for it (as said above, largely moot on an annual salary since you're not paid by the hour anyway). You should get start and finish times or core hours put into your contract too.
CPU Temps: Forget MBM, if it don't crash it ain't too hot.
