Safestor,
They can provide storage sizes in very large quantities including an appliance, (Get the first backup to your appliance then replicate on to Safestor Servers). @ 2GB a day I'm guessing you've got a fair chunk of data to send, (coming from a server?). Get the trial to check it matches your requirements. The Safestor software is pretty powerful. (safestor.net) |

tranfering 2GB of data per day as a backup is a lot of backup over the net.
would you not be better investing in some local backup system
It is Inevitable.....

How much are you guys actually storing on remote backup tho?, I'd certainly baulk at the idea of having to send 2GB of data over the new that is critical for backup purposes.
Plus the idea that the most sensitive data i've got is in someone elses hands scares the living daylights out of me with my IT head on. If i was someone looking to do some illegal activity these kinds of setups would be one of the first places i'd be looking for juicy data.... TiG

http://www.carbonite.com/ is quite nifty - I'm pretty sure its only the initial backup that takes the time - they usually do some fairly clever things with incrementals
![]() TiG I guess its a matter of what you need to backup - its usually reasonably heavily encrypted but if it was very valuable data I'd probably want to host my own
