I've got a heart condition (look up wolff parkinson whyte syndrome) which means my heart "short circuits" and one of the triggers is Caffeine (being tired / stressed is another).
The main treatment is Adenosine, which momentarily stops the heart (caffiene is also an adenosine inhibitor which sort of makes sense!)

I can have a cup of coffee or tea a day, but a can of coke can occasionally put me in hospital (last time I was there was new years eve 2005/6). so i generally steer clear of anything with caffeine or lots of e-numbers in.

I've been clocked at 205 bpm, but when i'm having an episode it's usually 186-190bpm.

Ergo I get people importing decaf "full fat" coke from france whenever they're over there. (full fat, no fun!) and yes, you can get decaf coke here, but you might notice it's also diet. yuk.
