    Thomann Cyberstore?

I know this should most probably go in the retail forum but I need people to see it.

I'm looking to buy 2 x Pioneer CDJ200's (They allow you to DJ using CD's for those of you unaware) to add to my vinyl turntables and the cheapest price I can find them is from http://thomann.de

Is this shop safe? It seems quite professional but I don't fancy losing £600 if its not. Shipping costs to UK also = £0.00. I won't get stung with import charges etc will I?

    Cheers for any advice.

I have a friend who has used them a number of times with no problems, takes a while to get stuff delivered in his experience, but apart from that he's never had a problem at all.

As long as the goods are shipped from the EU there will be no tax charges.

I've used Thomann on a number of occassions (have spent about £3k with them) and they've been excellent. Delivery is usually 4-5 days, but as it's coming from Germany and you're not paying any delivery charges for orders over a certain amount (something like 200 euros I think ~£130), I don't think you can complain.

Just a word of warning, don't rely on their email support. It's incredibly slow and you're better off giving them a call using a service like the ones on this page (costs about 0.5p/min to call Germany from this service):

    http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert...ntcallchecker/

They live up to the reputation of German efficiency and I've never once had a problem with my order that couldn't be fixed with a 20 second phone call. If you're ordering for the first time, you'll probably have to send a passport scan and a scan of your credit card (blank out the relevant numbers) if your order is over a certain amount.

They have a MASSIVE selection of stuff, some of which just isn't available over here. Although I try to support my local shops, I'm not going to pay £1400 for a mic I can get for £650 in Germany. Great shop if they have what you want at the price you're willing to pay.

people still see it in the correct place on the forum - the shopping section.

The forum is laid out to be in topics so that people can contribute and find relevant information. For example the section in the shopping area that has information about retailers would be the place I would like to find out if a company is good. If I'm looking in there I will not see this thread.

Just seems a tad rude to say "I know this doesn't belong here, but I want so I'll disregard the forums layout because I want to"

    Thanks for the replies.

I agree with you Wombar about the savings, I need to do this CDJ addition on the cheap, so saving ~£100 is great.

No problem If you get some DHL tracking numbers, they probably won't work as those numbers are only valid for parcels that are in Germany. You'll need to wait a couple of days until they've made it into the UK system and then give Thomann a call to get the UK tracking numbers. That's the only problem with ordering from them, you're never quite sure when things will turn up.

Oh and you'll almost certainly get a euro plug (i.e. 2 pins) on whatever you buy as well, so just keep that in mind if that could be a problem. I just bought a cheap converter from Robert Dyas and that works fine so it wasn't an issue for me.

I would have if it was posted in the correct place or the user had made a genuine mistake rather than just saying I'll post it here because I want more people to see it
