Booze!
So... Who's got a favorite tipple they'd like to share? I'll start:
Ron Añejo Santiago de Cuba - aged Cuban rum. This stuff is wonderful. There's no aftertaste, no ethanol shock on the back of the throat, no sick feeling after a teency little bit too much. It's rum that loves you back, pleasant both on its own, or in a nice Cubata or Mojito. It leaves absolutely no regret in my mind about no longer buying Bacardi products, and it's by a long shot the best rum I've tasted (which includes pricey super-aged stuff) |

Re: Booze!
After being in france for a week, I've aquired a taste for Kir Royale (creme de cassis and fizzy white wine) but I'm usually to be found on the Martini Rosso.
I hyave quite a few favourite tipples, including Blossom Hill White Zinfandel and Cabernet d'anjou (another holiday find) Rosé wines.

Re: Booze!
I love calvados. I did a big favour for an ex-employer last year and they sent me a bottle of calvados as a thank-you. It was 40 years old and probably cost 30 or 40 quid but was wonderful. A hint of apples and the lovely warmth exploding in your mouth.

Re: Booze!
Also some malt whiskies. I once went to a whisky tasting at Odd Bins London Bridge (North side; it's closed now) and I tasted the Bowmore 17 year-old. Fabulous. The bloke next to me was American and when he tasted it first I asked what he thought and he replied "It's like going down on the Virgin Mary." I guess the Virgin Mary must be a ship.

And, of course, Duvel. Best beer in the world. No doubt, no probably, no choice.

Tequila
I like it, but it doesnt like me. With most drinks I have a few, feel the alcohol slowly poisoning my body. With tequila, it just hits me out of no-where. And then some. It truly devastates me. Problem is, I like it ![]() For something a little less mainstream, there is a few old Yugoslavian drinks that are gorgeous, but im not even going to try and remember the names to them (they translate to a bunch of random characters in English). Thanks granddad, wherever you are

Re: Booze!
Weihenstephaner Kristall Weizen is my favourite beer, although you would not catch me drinking it in glass of that shape..!
I have recently discovered Lech Premium Polish lager in my local supermarket, which is a really clean and crisp taste, perhaps the most refreshing lager I have ever drunk! |

Re: Booze!
Jack Daniels, with or without a drop or two of Coca Cola is hard to beat. Morgan's Spiced (Golden Rum) is lovely, mixed with the abovesaid coke it's like a soft drink with a kick.

Re: Booze!
Tequila... Check
Absinthe.. Check Tia Maria... Check - I had loads of this with orange at the scan party. I have a soft spot for Cider at the moment. Not strongbow, but the lesser known varieties that are nice and refreshing and those nice lovely glass jars of random cider you see in tesco that look like a urine sample ![]() Do I have a drinking problem? Nah... of course not

Re: Booze!
Pint of Bishop's Finger or on a hot day a pint of Heineken. White Zinfandels are also lovely. Don't do spirits at all.
