Mobile Phones - Question and Price Check

There ain't a mobile phone forum here, is there? Oh well...

I currently have a Panasonic GD-87 which isn't extremely good for texting. I love the look of it, which is why I got it, but wanna go back to a Nokia for ease of use. I haven't looked into mobiles for a while so I don't know anything about the newer models.

What's a good Nokia with a good colour screen, picture phone not necessary but I'd go for another one. Also has to be a decent colour, perhaps silver? Don't like changable fascia's so that's not necessary either. Games aren't necessary either, but can relieve a few dull moments at work I suppose.

Also, what sort of price can I get for my unlocked GD-87? Only a few months old, good condition, no marks.

    Cheers,

    Al.

6100 fills all those requirements - its quite slim, picturecompatible and cheap (cos no camera built in). you can stick java games on it if you want, such as fifa 2004 and micromachines. comes in a fetching silveryblue, and has changable covers but the one that comes with it is nice and sturdy. you can stick a camera on it if you want. quite cheap too iirc

If you can, eBay your old phone, you'll get a few more extra ££ for it At a gues £80-£120 on a good day.

One of the best Nokia phones out atm is the Nokia 6600. You can add apps to it and also listen to Real Audio files (convert ya mp3s ) etc... Going lower down the scale theres the 7250i and the 6100.

6100 is a very nice phone, colour screen (4096 colours) but no camera (can get the plug in on for it). The 7250i is similar but with a camera built in, but this has been out a while and is getting old quick...

It's hard to recommend a phone if you dont set a budget for us to aim at, and if you are currently on contract or PAYGO.

This forum should get a 'Mobile Communications' forum I'd be happy modding it

    Nick

Nokia 6100 is great, got it free on upgrade from o2 2wks back. Far better build quality than the 7210/7250, feels alot less "gimmicky".

Smallest/lightest phone nokia have ever realease I read somewhere as well.

If you want a phone to be just that, a phone, rather than a pda/games console/pot washer then its spot on.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. 6100 looks ok to me. I had a Sony T610 before I got this one. As for budget and stuff, my budget will be whatever I can get for my GD-87 as I'm on a contract and don't really wanna get another (have 3 as it is !).

£80-120 sounds ok, might be able to pick up a 6100 for about the same then? If I eBay it, I might find some mug to pay me more!

Yeah, I also think we should have a mobile phone forum, what do you think?

Heh, theres one on my forum, but I aint gonna promote it cos thats not right.

Anyways, the 6600 is an excellent phone with the majority of capabilites you will need. The 6100 is nice, but looking dated now. Look at the 6220, or the 7600. Depends on budget of course. I have a 7650 and its great, wouldn't change it now to be honest, even though I've had it for 1.5 years. But if I were buying, I'd go for a 6600.

Hmm, that 6600 looks rather funky! But it's quite pricey! I'd need to get another contract just to be able to afford it! Maybe I should pay off my other contracts that I don't use!
