Re: RC Cars
I had a Tamiya Thundershot for which I built a custom rear end suspension, upgraded all the bearings/gearbox, stuck a parma custom motor (19 quad? Can't remember!) in and various other things
![]() Went to a couple of club open days but the car was too fast. Last edited by kalniel; 03-10-2007 at 10:20 AM.. |

![]() Used to race an Alfa Touring Car with an insane aftermarket motor in it. Battery lasted about 10 minutes but it was stupidly quick lol |

Re: RC Cars
I really want to build a nice petrol/hydrocarbon based RC. Not bothered about racing them, just want to build it from bits and play around

Re: RC Cars
I wanna play around, the main thing thats stopping me is battery life atm, gonna get a better battery, some bearings, alloy steering, alloy driveshaft, maybe a motor, not sure on what the stock ESC does tho so we'll see..

Re: RC Cars
Yup, have had a few in my time. A Tamiya TA02 Merc C class and Celica and also the King Blackfoot. Also had a CEN nitro Ford Focus.
Don't have them anymore though, been looking into getting something though. Still have a plane, couple of boats and a hovercraft though.
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

Re: RC Cars
A friend tried to get me into it, I've even got a Twin Detonator sat in a box that's collecting dust. Transpires both of us are just getting a bit old for it and don't have the time or notion anymore.
Although, I really fancy a go at RC helicopters.

Re: RC Cars
I had a Tamiya Hornet when I was about ten.....bored with it after about a month, and traded it up for a blank firing Magnum 45 and a black widow catapult....much more fun

I think I've had the following... Tamiya-> Hornet + Wild One + some other 2wd one I can't remember Schumacher-> Cat + Pro Cat Kyosho-> Optima Mid (bloody things allways understeered !)
