Amazing... listening to music you've not heard for ages...

Ok, so neither of these are considered particularly 'cool' albums, but I stumbled across Dido's No Angel and Moby's Play last night...

When these two came out I listened to them loads and then, one day, I just didn't listen to them any more. I haven't heard any of the tracks on the radio or anything, so I really have had a 5 or 6 year break from them both...

So I threw them on last night and oh wow, how damn cool is it to hear music that you know so well but haven't heard for ages?

Just a shame that because of some stupid disc encoding, I can't rip Dido onto my PC and have to use that stupid macromedia player thingie... and no, don't start telling me how to do it, we don't want another thread locked because of dubious legalities.

Just thought I'd share how stunned I was with a blast from the recent past...

    @Nick

Please make it stop - my head hurts!!! I'm still scarred by that video of you wearing seriously skimpy shorts and stretched t-shirt ... Now you're bouncing around, in the same kit, to Dido and Moby

    NOOOOOOOoooooooo!

Go play with some more tanks and guns please and put an end to this mentally damaging imagery

PS: Yeah, I know what you mean ... I love going back through my music collection

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier.

    and

Fields of the Nephilim - The Nephilim.

Hadn't listened to either in ages but gave both a listen recently, classic stuff.

I found my Daft Punk - Discovery album the other day, what an album! Been listening to it for the past few days.

Oh, and The Streets - Original Pirate Material, dunno why I like it so much, just love the lyrics!

If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

How about Plastikman - Sheet One. It came out of my archive a while back and I must have listened to it about 5 times in the first 2 days. Absolutely brilliant. I hadn't heard it since I was in college.

Regarding Play, It's been an album I've listen too regularly since it came out. In fact. it's on my phone right now! It was certainly Moby's best work, in my opinion anyway.

Whenever I hear of Dido I always remember Mark & Lard on Radio 1 saying that she wasn't successful until she took the l out of her name.

As Mark said, "Well, imagine the embarrassment of finding yourself on stage called Didol."

Recently, I kept getting the San Francisco part from Dazed and Confused (TSRTS live film thingy) in my head, even though I hadn't seen/heard it for well over 3 years. I found a video of it on Youtube, which blew me away, of course.

So now I'm, once again, hooked on the Zeppelin.

I blame it on the location. First six months it was out I was on a beach in Bali, listening to it surrounded by aussie party monsters off my face on cheap tequila and arak, second six months I was on a beach in California, surrounded by thong wearing baywatch wannabe's (of the female variety). Who was I to stop their fun?
