    air flow in cases

    hello

i was thinking about cases and the flow of air and heat through them.

in some high end cases the areas inside it are sectioned off depending on what is around like the cpu or power supply and hard disks.

if thats to trap hot air and have a fan or two just for that area it should be better at cooling, right?

then if you have a budget case, is it feasible to do a homemade version, sectioning off areas with plastic sheets, would the benefits be noticable for a days work lets say?

the project would be interesting, not sure if anyones tried or has experience of those cases.

I am not sure if anyone has tried to section a whole case - but ducting is something that has been done by enthusiasts.

I'd say no, but if you enjoy that sort of thing then why not? It should make some difference if thought out well. Certainly better than the Xclio theory of just sticking big fans in random places.
