And very interesting it was too. Quality TV.
All hail Mr. Flowers, for winning the war, and all that. Nice quote from the head of IBM as well, saying that one day, the world may need 4 or even 5 computers! ![]() I like Clarkson, he's a man's man. Gets the message across, and blows things up a bit, so you don't get bored. I thought he made the best program when the greatest Britain’s progs were on, about Isambard Kingdom Brunel (although I agree with the overall winner being Churchill). Good program, I enjoyed it. |

interesting show, and mr. flowers is indeed a godly person. engineers will rule the world.
their flashy emp effects were a bit odd. was pleased to find out what a computer would do when hit with an emp bomb. isn't it possible to make such a device using nothing but a large copper pipe, some wire and a car battery?

It was about computers, the early years, and the future of computers, focusing on AI.
Various stuff about World War II, and the chaps at Blexly Park, cracking codes and the like. Had a lot of stuff about Turing, some bloke called Flowers, and a few other bods. Clarkson had a go at the Turing test (computer conversation where you aren't able to tell its a computer), and the computer failed badly, like they always do. Then some stuff about the robot football World Cup, EMP wiping out the Western World, and a bloke with a computer hand attached to his own. Bit of everything really, and very good it was too.

i want a usb storage device implanted with the port in my arm, so i can just carry everything i need around with me, and plug a usb lead into any comp and use my work. My guessing is it with storage getting smaller and smaller and smaller this isnt too far off.
