    When little people get colds....

    ...it breaks your heart

    Zak Jr is full on snot, and you can hear it gurgling in his throat. He's waking up early because he's coughing all this stuff up and it's so sad. This morning was ok at 6am but the last two days have been 4am.

    He's smiling and trying to be happy, but it's getting him down a bit

    This is a new experience for us, watching a little 'un struggle with his breathing. He's ok, quite safe, but it's gotta be hard. Our throats are red raw with a cold, so his must be on fire. Dunno how babies stay so smiley

    I can only imagine it would be tough for a parent seeing that and now being able to do anything.

    But look at it this way, it's important for his imune system to fight colds, mild infections, bugs, etc.

    Hope the wee man is better soon.

    Goose him up on "medised" (get it from boots) - it's like turning the nose tap on. Clears them out and sends them to sleep. I always give it to my kids if they have a rough cold.

    Its a shame I don't like seeing anyone ill, as you said though baby's seem to in a world of their own when they have colds atleast you know they are ill because of this. Its the times when they a screaming for no apparent reason you need to be warey of.

    All the best m8

    Awww poor little blighter.

    Get some karvol capsules* and put these on the bedding etc near him while he's sleeping. The nice fumes from these should help clear his nasal passage so he is able to breath easier.

    * - kids version - safe for 3 months+

    Presumably medical related, as opposed to just cruel boss?

    Ah bless, poor little beggar. Must break your heart and make you fill your pants with worry when this sort of thing happens to your first born. Here's hoping it clears up soon.

    Funny enough having a cold is actually good for him, it helps his immune system get stronger so when hes a bit older his immune system will be able to fight off colds and virus's, flus and such later on in his life much much better. I remeber when was about 5-6 i had this really nasty cold, flu, virus whatever it was it wasnt very nice and it lasted quite some time, but since then i rarely get the flu, catch a cold etc.

    But yeah it is upsetting seeing little ones not well.

    Littlies are far more resilient than you think. They may be puking one minute & laughing the next. In fact I've always marveled at our youngest's chipper outlook when in the ICU after a major asthema attack, never gets em down for long. I believe we probably feel worse then they do.

    FOLD FOR HEXUS! It's your duty.
