Ahhh, detachments, where anything goes, especially for a "shiny liney pound"! I liked how he gradually got a bigger crowd watching him, and by the end he seemed to marshalling everyone elses jets!

The fact is, pilots will normally ignore us when marshalling anyway. I've pointed them one way and they've gone the other, or just been day dreaming and taxied right pass me and had to double back on themselves. It's only if we have to stop them do they actually pay attention!

We wanted to do something similiar with the foam hands when we went away, but the Warrant Officer was with us and it was deemed "a FOD hazard".

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt; then it's bloody hilarious!

I've seen this as it was linked from The Sun website in another forum I visit. I just wonder what the F3 pilots were thinking as they were taxiing. Can't beat a bit of humour in the workplace.

I find it funny that despite all the silly dancing, he still follows the Health and Safety regulations and crouches until the jet has gone away!

I fold for Hexus, do you?

That's bullpoop! The correct hand signals are like the Italians do it (without looping your arms to stop though) and we sure as hell don't salute the pilots as they go! I think as long as he kept moving, they were clear to go, and would do the correct stopping signal if needed be. Mind you, he didn't notice a F16 heading towards him at one point.
