Depends what it costs.
Only 20 quid for a car and up to 9 people, plus free box of wine and buy one get one free on ferry meal means it doesn't cost a lot ![]() (Day trip offer - P&O Ferries) |

Not sure about Calais but generally the only thing really cheaper is wine and beer etc, spirits + specaility brands are the same price if not slightly more.

i think its getting to the point where the closest places to the tunnel arent really much cheaper on fuel, cigarettes and alcohol.
it would make for a fun day out though, and is pretty inexpensive. |

Re: So, a daytrip to france, is that even worth it?
Theres some good WW2 bunkers, etc just south of Calais, think theres also a underground V2 base nearby. Drink wise I wouldn't bother, smoking wise probably still worth it but Belgium is cheaper. Don't forget the £ to Euro is crap at the moment. For day trips Boulogne is a lot more historic

Re: So, a daytrip to france, is that even worth it?
Le Touquet is about 40 minutes down the road and is a lovely little town.
Also on the way there you can stop at the Auchan hypermarket. Far cheaper than at Calais and better stuff. I can't remember exactly where it is though. The old town of Boulogne is rather nice as well.
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?
