    Sperm for festival Tickets... real?

Just read about Sperm Donation, Fertility Clinic - Sperm For Tickets a site that will supposedly offer you free festival tickets for donating spem... sounds dodgy to me especially as there is no contact details at all and the T&C's are about a sentence long...

    Quick domain check reveals:

    Spermfortickets.com - Sperm For Tickets
    =
    Area52

Either a legit maketing company, or they are drumming up interest for something.

What you guys reckon... not that id be doing it anyway, i dont want to have some unknown child for the sake of a £70 ticket.

I think 'Shaking Hands with Yul Bryner' for a £70 concert ticket is a good deal tbh.

you would have to be an asbolute complete and utter moron to do this (even if its real).

anonymous sperm doners, that where told it was an anonymous donation are now finding that their spawned ones are able to track them down.

    you're effectivly becoming a dad.

and if that dosent bother you, think that they might change the law so you ow support.

Any examples? As I understand it the progeny of a sperm donor can ask to meet them, but the donor is under no obligation to agree to a meeting. Personally, if I had been a donor, I would agree to meet the results of my donations simply out of courtesy.

and if that dosent bother you, think that they might change the law so you ow support.
That's pretty unlikely though, and I think it would be subject to a (fair) challenge in the courts given that laws that retrospectively impose sanctions on people are generally held to be a bad thing. IANAL, perhaps someone who is could clarify?

Could you be an egg or sperm donor in the UK? - Rights and responsibilities

That seems to say that if you go through an HFEA-licenced clinic you have no responsibilities towards the child, and nor do you have any rights at all to see them or know anything about them.

Personally I think sperm (and even moreso egg) donation is a good and noble thing; I just never did it myself because I think anyone paying for IVF deserves better than to get the genes of a bald alcoholic with OCD and (debatably) mild ADHD. I daresay there are plenty of donors out there without my moral convictions though....

As for the OP, I haven't clicked the links, so I have no idea if it's real. The 'special collection containers' leads me to believe it's a spoof though...

Sorry I couldn't resist. I wonder if the sperm filter, I mean swear filter, will pick that word up.

Wow, the site looks a bit iffy but if the concept is for real then I would do it.

Edit just noticed this on the Terms and Contidions

    Repeat usage

In most cases reservation of donor sperm for future siblings is possible. As soon as we know that a couple have an ongoing pregnancy, if there is still some of that same donor available at the donor bank, couples are offered the chance to reserve some for future treatment.

/\ Yep lets reserve some sperm..... Its sounds to dodgy to by true to me.

Although if it turns out to be real..... I'll be filling those jars (or special Tupperware contains)
