Money!
Money.... it makes the world go round.....
A few months ago i graduated from university and have constantly been applying for jobs. All of which require experience which i dont have. At the moment i'm currently not working and the little money i do get, i'm buying odds and sods with it. Last week I bought my timing belt kit for my car which was over £100 and a 15" TFT monitor. this week i've bought 2 tyres £80.... Two essential items for the car. The TFT monitor was a good deal which I scraped the money together from selling my old monitor and some odds and ends. All of a sudden people think im loaded with money! WHICH IM NOT!!! It's starting to annoy me now. People are expecting things for free since they think I dont need the money. It's little things really which annoy me. Blank CD's.... rounds of beer at the pub. And its always people who are actually working and realing in the money that are tight bastards. Nipping to the toilet when its there round at the pub.. Its damm annoying. grrr... anyway... im fed up... ![]() *Disclaimer* - The contents of this message are not necessarily my own opinions, thoughts or views... they may belong to the voices in my head! |

i know the feeling - finished degree oct last year and EVERY JOB, thats EVERY JOB asks for 2 to 3 years experience in such and such...bl**dy frustrating so I've resigned myself to thinking that my degrees count as experience enough - ok perhaps not the first year of my first degree but certainly everything after that so I figured i asked then I'd blag it and say that such was the intensity and intention of the course(s) i undertook, that experience went hand in hand with academic learning...
or something like that anyway - point is only I know how good I am, and if a job looks like I could do it then stuff the experience malarky, especially if I have the know-how. its just the way they word job applications I'v come to realise. always asking for 2-3years experience...there may be no one else applying, there maybe hundreds, but the trick is to try and make what you do stand out...at least character and abilities etc. can come through in a cover letter. sometimes its also good to have other interests too, they like that you have a life outside your job. feel for ya mate, jobs...who needs one anyway?!!
Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

it was an MSc which runs a whole year - end of sept to end of sept. - not your usual degree which runs sept to may/june (whilst fleecing you despite the act its not a whole years worth of studying). thankfully I got a scholarship and paid zippo for my course

nope. not in the REAL world. in fact being at school is some what like being in the matrix - as soon as you get out you realise there's another world outside!!
na, over the summer I was doing my research project down in portsmouth on a naval medical base which was very cool so really I didn't mind much at all. warm, by the sea for 6 weeks...(oh and accom. was paid for too ) so, in the REAL world you see holidays don't really exist. thats why i want to get a job that makes it appear like i'm on holiday all the time! woohoo!! thinking adventure travel guide/ecotourist guide or something...
