1st Job
Well got my first job today subject to references. Funny, first ever interview, get the job! Its in a secondary school doing their ICT, they have one of the largest ICT developments going in any secondary school I have seen, and there is lots to be done. Should provide an interesting challenge, especially getting up in the mornings!
Not going to be working alone, working along another guy who has been there a few years. Should be good, first steps out into the world, and its scary .... Well money, here I come, well a little bit anyways! Still every little helps.Just thought I'd share it with you people. Don't know how many of you regard me, but itsjust nice to share the niceties of life when they happen.

I remember my first job - first interview too.
The job sucked - too boring. Anyway, I start my second job next week, so I guess the pair of us need wishing good luck!

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

I did a practise interview at college and they said i was too good for the job. It was done by professionals as well
![]() I was quite impressed, first they just turned me down so i was like gutted, then they sent me a letter explaining why. It made me quite chuffed, i don't think the same thing would apply to the real world

Well tax will always be there to haunt us unfortunatley. I'm just glad to be getting a first foothold into my multimillion pound investments. Of course I'll have to wait a few years.
Plus I still do odd jobs for others so thats added income! ![]() Thanks all, still can't believe it.

If it makes you feel better, Sweden's top tax bracket is 57%, I think their regular (or base) one is 33%.
And beer is about £3.50 a pint. But they do have 26Mbps broadband for home users in some areas (my gf had to make do with a mere 8Mbps in her area though).
There is no IRL... only AFK

scandinavia is super-expensive to live in - a loaf of bread in denmark is normally about £1.50.. but then everyone earns way more over there, so it all works out..
i've paid a total of about 3 grand in tax so far in my life.. the number of times i've been to hospital thou (ive broken 11 bones so far, and been hit by a car, and had a major operation, and had stitches from another incident) i'm making the most out of my money

Hahaha!
I don't wanna think about how much tax I've paid! Too depressing! Good luck fella's. The only piece of advise I can give, and this will always help you, is to be honest. Never ever pull a sicky without phoning up first (it doesn't go down too well - trust me!) and as much as you can tell the truth to your supervisor/manager. They will respect you for it.
If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.
