Are their any WISes in hiding here?

    Hi all,

My first post here in absolutely ages; at least the last one was a fun discussion mostly with Saracen (hi mate, hope you're keeping well!).

As posted though, are their any WISes lurking about Hexus in secret?

Not much has changed for this WIS over the past couple months, apart from having a ball and I posted a video review on Youtube a couple hours back:

Video Review of the Rolex GMT-Master II 116713LN

...it's a bit cheesy; heck it was my first attempt at a video review...

A couple new scans of my two favourites:

    All the best,
    Michael

Not really that mad into Watches, but Mike HOW do you get such good pictures of something so small? Just spent ages and over 100 attempts to get these two that are semi-decent!

Probably not worth as much as the Rolex, but my Kentic Casio

    Hi hitman67

Well the trick is to use the 'macro' mode on your camera, and to shoot in the best possible light as possible.

If you have a DSLR, you can get macro lenses but I have taken macro-ish shots with my 24-70 canon lens, an example below:

This is still not true 'macro' photography and due to the poor lighting I had to shoot at f/2.8 (which is why a lot of the outer sides are blurry).

I hope to one day set up a 'lightbox' - this is something that lots of macro photographers do. Basically you have multiple light sources (desk lamps) and use an opaque containe to diffuse the light, think laundry bin or something.

You can start to take photos similar to this with the right setup and patience...

(photograph belongs to MinuteMachines.com - used here as an example only).

    All the best
    Michael.

Had my Camera in Macro for them and tbh they came out better than I thought.

Mines not an SLR but it's a pretty top end camera, Kodak Z740
