You need to post at least once more to actually qualify mate.

As for getting the postage deducted from a current order, I very much doubt it. The fact you registered today and effectively spammed your way to 25ish posts doesn't count in your favour.

Yeah i regestered today but define spam cause spam to me is posts that are useless and are generally short and pointless which none of mine exactly are. If i made pointless posts thats fair enough cause i know this system is obviously liable to such things but i don't feel like they where

26 posts in one day is somewhat excessive.

Even if they are all relevent/useful to be asking about free shippng within days of joining is somewhat suspicious . . . .

    Fergico,

you need to have reached 20 posts before you can associate your scan and hexus accounts together. Unfortunately I cannot lower this as it's all about giving a little to the hexus community and joining in and for this you get rewarded with free UK carriage.

    Best Regards,

Thanks for the prompy reply Lee.

No probs, sounds like a fair deal. I guess I'll take the hit on postage this time and be more active on here in the future to get free postage next time.

    Cheers anyway.

That's because a number of your posts followed a pattern we see regularly, which is posting of 20 posts exactly, many of which are just a word or two that don't actually add anything to the thread. And once hitting 20, posting stops and an order magically appears at Scan expecting free delivery.

The Free Shipping offer is a collaboration between Scan and Hexus but is intended to be for active Hexus members. One way to determine "active" is post count, but another is posting pattern.

If we had a member that'd been around for weeks or months and posted occasionally, and then ordered when hitting 20, I see no problem. If we have someone that joins, and puts in the effort for hitting 20 meaningful posts, then I see no problem even if they manage it in a single say.

But when 20 posts appear in a very short period, many of them are just a word or three, and then posting stops, we assume it's been done just to take advantage of the Scan offer because, in the past, after the order, that member promptly vanishes.

And if that pattern is suspected, one of three things will likely occur, depending on just how blatant an attempt to Spam to 20 posts it was :-

    - a mod or admin will delete those posts that are clearly not adding much
    - a mod or admin will delete ALL posts
    - we contact Scan and point out the posting pattern, and Scan can exercise their discretion to simply not provide the Free Shipping offer to that account.

I deleted a number of posts from several people yesterday, probably including yours. If only a few vanished, then I'd assume yours match the "suspicious" pattern and the first option was applied. But I must say, when posting then goes back to 20 and stops again, it makes me tempted to apply the second option.

Ultimately, it's Scan's decision whether to allow the free shipping offer to apply to a given account or not. But we have discussed this and they are happy for forum mods to apply the above monitoring.

So once again, I'll stress this .... it's for active forum members, and joining up, posting to exactly 20 posts and then stopping and ordering, isn't the idea.

Of course, we could always put a minimum membership period limit on it too. Say, a month. And see how people's posting pattern looks over that period.

But instead we exercise our right to discretion in deleting posts that we deem "spammy". If you only lost 6 out of 20, you didn't do badly. There've been quite a few where I've just done a "delete all".

    Noli nothis permittere te terere.

I've also noticed an increase in PM's relating to issues with this free carriage offer.

Please note, if you have signed up for hexus using an old email such as xyz@domain.com, then in the email field on the scan linking page, please insert THIS email address and not a new email address you are using such as xyz@domain2.com and they should link fine.

If you have any issues - drop me a PM and we'll try and get it all sorted out accordingly.
