Jay-Z at Glastonbury
Right or wrong?
Just been having a read of: http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/mu...00/7466124.stm I had a couple of friends that go to Glasto most years but have point blank refused this time around due to him headlining. I've not been myself, but its not the sort of music I would be expecting to hear if I did go. So should Shawn Corey Carter...sorry, I meant "Jay-Z" be at Glastonbury? |

Re: Jay-Z at Glastonbury
Jay-Z is a highly respectable and real hiphop artist as opposed to someone like 50 Cent, so I anticipate that it will probably go down better than him
However I'm not saying it will be a hit, as there's a lot of narrow minded people out there when it comes to anything associated with hiphop (and I'm not strictly talking about peoples taste in music, although it doesn't hurt to open your music tastebuds sometimes gents!)

There is always a diverse range of music at Glastonbury, so why not have Jay-Z there. I'm going but won't be watching him, not my cup of tea. |

It's not that I have anything against that kind of music, but its not what I have come to expect from the place. |

Re: Jay-Z at Glastonbury
Rick Astley should be headlining at all the festivals by rights.
I'll bet he has had more plays than Jay-Z this year

http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.u...e.aspx?id=2179 if you check out the link at the top it list 25+ places hosting performances - now if they all had rap music on all day then there'd be trouble. I'll probably head to the 'other' stage to see Massive Attack while people are still muttering about mr J |

What were they thinking?

Re: Jay-Z at Glastonbury
I cannot stand any of his music (he ruins Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love' for me with his random, egotistical stuff, I'm not a fan of her's particularly either but I do like that song somewhat) but sod it why shouldn't he headline at Glastonbury?
The festival doesn't interest me (paying a lot of good money to rough it, share a toilet with a squillion other people and wade up to my armpits in mud, well for some reason I can't quite articulate, it just doesn't appeal to me.) However, though I'm no fan of his I'd say he has as much right to headline it as anyone else. JMHO, anyway.. |

Re: Jay-Z at Glastonbury
This sounds like when 50 Cent was headlining Reading a few years back, I wasnt there myself although IRC the amount of bottles that were hurled his way was ridiculous!
