    eBay

So they have just updated their site.... and made it complicated beyond belief?

It feels like they have done change for changes sake...

What is your take? Do you like it or loath it - try to do a search and its painful - you end up giving up

    Gave up aaaages ago.

Prime example, search 8600 Luna - takes you ten minutes to add the -somethings to allow you to see what you want.

    It seriously sucks.

There was nothing wrong with how it was.

I am still trying to spot the difference. Do I need to log in first? I was able to find the two things I searched for just now fine.

Looks the same to me. You might be on the crappy "ooh lets make it easy for everyone" layout which they forcibly demoed a while ago. In which case there's an option to change it.

I have a button saying "try the new search experience" no way in hell i'm clicking on it. So there must be a way to opt out.

I opted out of it last time but it seems they have forced it on me again. If I cant opt out again (or if they do this again) then I will avoid ebay from now on. I already hate the site, but there is so much stuff on it that is actually a good deal if you look for the right things.

    Re: eBay

They seem to be rolling the search out to random individuals... Very annoying but also very easy to opt out of.

On another note I was just looking at their forums and it seems they have rolled out the search and they are still trying to get some things working. Why would you roll out a service (that you want people to adopt) before it is ready and has all the features intended. The massive wasted white space seems like one of the most stupid errors IMO. If you have a 19in monitor or even smaller then its just completely empty!

There's an option at the top to try it, too. Just trying it now

edit: It's good, the category selection down the left is nicer and the customisable columns I like

    Re: eBay

Its shown to a certain percentage of users currrently, and you can opt out for the next 4 weeks, then its forced on everyone

Up until last year ebay was great, and I used to look on there first, when buying online. Now I don't bother.

I also stopped selling due to the fee increases and other changes:

can't see bidders names on auctions anymore (bidder1,bidder2...) (shill bidders paradise)
removal of sort by total price (inc p&p)
sellers can't leave negative feedback (WTF?)
shop items rarely showing in searches now...
invasion of numpty buyers (tv advertising)
