Exclamation HELP - advice regarding purchase needed

HELP - i need a bit of advice.

I just got a mate of mine to get me the radeon 9800 pro from komplett (told him on monday when they were in stock, but when it was ordered there werent any left ).

Now they've taken £140 from the card to cover the card and del.

My question is will they honour the price or will the take a top up when the card are back in stock and no doubt, more expensive?

Also posted in the sticky in the bargain forum about rad 9800 aswell.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    BUFF's system
I would say that if they have debited the card then they have entered into a contract to supply at that price.

    Cool

Has anyone actually experienced something like this with Komplett before?

yup - agree with buff...its the usual deal of once taken your money its as good as done deal and they have to abide by it otherwise its technically thieving...
so I'm guessing they found a 9800 to send you and thus took money - if they're selling something at specific price at the time ordered then should be valid. as implies more will be in stock and no indication for them not to have any later...

if they hassle you there are usually people round here that know the ins/outs of dealing with these types over the internet...some companies can be a bit sticky about that sort of thing but hopefully not komplett...

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

If they have taken the money, they have agreed to your transaction.

Of course they could just email you in a few days and re-fund the amount :-(

don`t think about trading standards, I have taken a few things to them which were obviously against the law *Still angry at dell* and they just say will add it to our list (well for dell anyway).

I`d recommend calling them up and actually talking to them

    Interesting.

I bought a 1 gig of Twinmoss 512 PC2700 DDR ram from Komplett last year sometime. There must have been a lull in memory prices cos i got the ram for £84. I only got it cos it was so cheap at the time.

Anyway, one of the sticks was faulty so i returned it for another to try out. I think i returned 2 over the course of a couple of weeks and it still showed up faulty, machine hanging, bsods.... etc So i asked for a refund.

In the meantime the memory i originaly bought off them had increased in price.
Not only did they refund the current price, they also refunded the postage as well.

    Gobsmacked....

yeah, i had always thought komplett was one of the more above board places...certainly from people I've heard at least.

    s'true

even if they do take more, if you've not authorised it you can contact your card issuer & request a chargeback - this will force their bank (who've taken the money of their behalf) to provide proof that you have agreed that amount is taken - if they can't (which, if they have no signature off you or no completed order for that amount then they won't be able to)then your card issuer takes the money back of their bank & re-credits you. the onus is on them to provide proof in this sort of situation

(guess who's spent the past month writing a bankings & chargeback procedures manual in work )

i'd agree with this - i've nothing but praise for this company, even when i've had problems with items purchased they've gone out of their way to rectify, even when the problem wasn't their doing - best example being i had a motherboard with onboard sound which sounded ****e through my speakers - turned out to be a "feature" of the motherboard causing the problem & not really anything i or they could do, so they offered me a half price deal on my next soundcard purchase (which coincidentally was placed that very day)

if it ain't broke...fix it till it is

    Reply from Komplett:

    Dear Customer,

When you a place an order with us the amount is reserved on your card.

You will not be charged for the card until the goods ship. The price charged for will be the price that was in the shopping cart.

We must strongly advise you order now.

    Best regards
    Komplett
So looks like ill be sorted (in a while tho!)
