Re: Wisdom teeth
The figure I gave you was what I paid at least 5 years ago.
Therefore I'd be surprised if its gone down in that time... However, having said that, it was a large amount of money well spent. Issues I personally had with confidence etc didn't disappear, but it was a major boost to have my teeth sorted. Don't underestimate how much of a difference it can make... |

Re: Wisdom teeth
Ther was space for my upper wisdom teeth as I had the premolars on either side extracted prior to having a brace put in when I was twelve. I guess I must have big teeth, there was never enough room for them in my mouth and my upper teeth used to be horrendously wonky before my orthodontic treatment. The wisdom teeth never came out as far as the other upper teeth, but they're there and they're fine.
My lower wisdom teeth were too far back in my jaw to come out properly, so they were always half covered with my gums. On the left side I eventually got a very painful infection in the gum round the tooth. Antibiotics cleared it up, but I was informed that it would likely happen again, so I had it extracted. I was on the dole at the time, so it didn't cost me anything other than two train tickets to Kings College Hospital. I must say it was a pretty unpleasant experience though, involving peeling a 2cm section of gum away from my teeth, and slightly drilling out my jaw. My face swelled up for a few days afterwards and the gum took a few weeks to properly stick to the remaining teeth again. I'm hoping I won't need to have the other one taken out. Edit: the other weird thing with my teeth is that about three or four years ago an extra tooth grew out of the inside of my jaw, just behind and below my right canine. It was pretty irritating, so I had it extraced, which was pretty easy, the dentist just sort of levered it out with a screwdriver-type impleent. Anyone else had something like that, or am I a genetic freak? |
