    Question Who Remebers Monkey Magic?

Somehow Monkey's ended up promoting Beijing '08.

    Meet Monkey

Recognised the egg straight away, but didn't know what was going on at first, thought it was an advert for some funky animated adventures, until the end. Personally I like the animation and music, but is this a generational thing?

I remember watching that when I was really young, there was also Water Margin.

Monkey was more comedic though, he used to wave his finger infront of his mouth blowing to make the cloud appear which he sat on to get about. No doubt if I saw it now it would be really cheesy, but I loved it as a kid

P.S : I'm talking about the origional here not the animated!!! Gawd I feel old!

Altogether now "Born from an egg on a mountain top...."

In the worlds before Monkey, primal chaos reigned. Heaven sought order. But the phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown. The four worlds formed again and yet again, as endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of Heaven, the moisture of the Earth, the powers of the Sun and the Moon all worked upon a certain rock, old as creation. And it became magically fertile. That first egg was named "Thought". Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said, "With our thoughts, we make the World". Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch. From it then came a stone monkey. The nature of Monkey was irrepressible!"

Yeah, been keeping my eye on this for a couple of weeks now after a mate who knows Damon mentioned something about it. Just check out the animation, bloody Gorrilaz rip off if you ask me

Used to love Monkey....they've been going on about it all day on the radio, mentioning the 34-40 age bracket, which ain't me (not yet) so I must have been pretty young when I used to watch it.

Doubt if it'll beat Avatar in terms of sheer excellence, but maybe worth a quick watch....

I think what made the originals cheesy, was mainly the dubbed dialogue!

hm, the tv serieses everyone remembers (and there have been several) are all based on the same 500-year-old chinese story, Journey to the West.

I used to watch it with my father as a young pollaxe... I'm tempted not to do the whole nostalgia thing and view it again as it seems to lead to great disappointment as I found when I came to watch Blake's 7 again...
