Right - you lot - in here
Here at Skii Towers We've been getting anonymous calls every day, usually around late afternoon, the call hangs up after a second or two, and the number is with-held
This is something called a 'power-dialer' used by companies such as Mobile phone venders, double glazing, new kitchen, etc etc etc. What these unscrupulous buggers do it use a computer to automatically dial out your number and connect you with a Salesman, however if that Salesman isn't available or they are short-staffed, you get connected to nothing, which will then click off and terminate the call. Go here - as recommended by BT http://www.silentcallguard.co.uk/ Also call 0800 398893, this will take you off the list that they use. w**kers ![]() That's all Dismissed.

It's often companies ringing out a group of numbers, and the person that answers first gets to talk to the salesperson. The others get cut off. Ridiculous

its actually called predictive dialling - i work in a department for a company which uses this - however we only use it to contact existing customers (for checkups and stuff).. the reason they dont do anything if no-one is arround is that it is illegal to get a machine to make an unsolicited phone call..

i've tried that telephone preference servie but we still get idiot calls from time to time...
next time a double glaser calls i'm going to ask if they can insert a 2inch by 2inch window...into my garden wall...!that should shut the buggeres up for a bit
Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

or do what one of my dad's friends did a very long time ago...
He got cold-called by someone trying to sell cavity wall insulation... so he gets the bloke to come round to see what he has to offer. Blokey goes away and sends the surveyor round - all at the sales blokey's expense and the surveyor fits the house up for CWI... Blokeys come round with the insulating gubbins and Dad's friend points to 3 small holes in the outside wall with foam poking out of them - the house already had cavity wall insulation - it was built with it. And the sales bloke, and the surveyor missed it. Muppets - at least they got put out a bit.. |
