    Bad cat.

My flat mates cat is been incredibly naughty, she's learnt how to pull up the carpet

Thing is she did this today when she'd been left on her own for 2 hours, normally she gets left for 10. I think she gets very board because she dosen't like going out.

Any suggestions? De-clawing is illegal isn't it?

i was thinking of making a shock collar + web cam. Create a website called train my cat, sit back watch the ad revenue come in, and see the cat become well behaved.

http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/1...ender-ter.html Something along those lines perhaps?

On a more serious note though, just get a decent scratching post?

Getting sticky pads for my gran's chairs stopped her cat from ripping it to shreds, not sure how you'd apply that to carpet unless he/she's got a favourite scratching place.

Cats don't like citrus smells, so maybe spray lemon juice around where She scratches. And agree with above, buy a scratching post

    Re: Bad cat.

she has lots of scratching posts. On 'regular' type post, and a kitten house type thing, 3 stories which scratching posts for legs.

    I'll try the citrus thing.

    Have you tried therapy?

Seriously how about only letting it inside when you are home, cats are self sufficient animals that love to hunt and etc. Shut in all day it must be bored.

    Re: Bad cat.

What's the reason she doesn't like going outside - nervous, or not used to it, etc? What is there outdoors if she does go? Basically as people have said she is not being naughty she's just bored and lonely, most cats like company unless they're used to an outdoor life.

A lot of cats ignore their scratching posts and scratch everything else, that's just what cats are like & anyway a scratching post isn't something to do for 10 hours.
