    What stuff sells well...

    ..on eBay??

Would there be any technicalities of buying stuff from shops and selling them on eBay?

I know theres the hassle of delivery, but as long as it's recorded / insured - shouldnt have a problem?

Cheers for any feedback, and apologies if eBay isn't allowed on here!

    Nick

Anything you might consider throwing away tbh... as long as its still usable. I've made about a grand on there in last 6 weeks just from getting rid of old PC bits I dont need, old games, cds, videos etc etc.

Well the reason I've asked is because I often come across real bargains in the high street, therefore think of selling them on eBay to make a light profit

I guess this wouldnt class as a business and I wont be able to claim tax back on things I purchase?

I have also had another little clearout and stuff I haven't managed to sell might go on there and see how they do!

What is eBays interface like if you have multiple items for sale? Is it easy to manage?

Never used ebay......................... but about businesses/tax..
To start a business you have to register it, though i forget who with. A sole trader busness costs something like £2 a week for NI contributions. You can NOT claim any VAT back unless you are also VAT registered, which means filling out lots of forms and stuff.
I prefer selling on forums though, this one for example

yeah - you wont be classed as a business just buying and selling, so u wont get VAT back

but with ebay you dont pay tax on your earnings (well i think thats true)

Yeah its possible- just have to keep your ear to the ground. Mobile phones for instance, quite a few people made some cash flogging new samsungs that they had bought pay £200 get £180 back then claim the £50 cash back.

My work was selling off gamecube wavebird contollers for £1 (staff only thing). Though i was beatne to it by a like minded friend who then flogged them on ebay there is cash to be made.

    yeah there is

like steve said, the sammy phones, i bought the c100 as there was more %age off them, 50 off 200 isnt much, but 50 quid off a 70 quid phone is a saving and a half

i bought 2 phones, one for 80 and one for 70, 100 quid off, so i paid 25 for the both

i think i got 70 and 64 respectivly for them, thats 134 quid, minus a tenner for 2 x special deliveries, minus a few quid for ebay fees, i reckon i got 115 , of money i actually saw, 65 quid profit for 2 phones isnt bad

its getting the deals, and selling them, u have be in the right place at the right time most of the time, but there are a few deals out there, that are profit ridden
