I think i used the internet for at least a year or two before i even realised that porn existed - for reference the first site i looked at was about solar eclipses where my dad worked
. Kate's Playground eh? You must have been pretty late on the internet scene ![]() However, i don't want my 5 year old child looking at porn thankyou very much - or indeed sites with disturbing content. |

| Re: Social websites harm children's brains Dont listen to the crappy scare stories, mirical cures, cancer causing storys in the media - most of them are written by journalists who have no scientific knowledge, who dont understand the facts and misinterpret data - and often just make stuff up. Just look at the MRSA scare, the MMR scare etc - this ones alot more nothingy tho lol (\__/) (='.'=) (")_(") |

| Re: Social websites harm children's brains aha yeh, mistype sos - its not just the media tho - we would probably have eliminated polio by now but a group of imams in northern nigeria decided the polio vaccine was designed to spread HIV to the muslim world and cause their destruction ![]() As a result we still have the disease and there were numerous outbreaks all over the world causing many thousands of deaths, especially in children. EDIT Also can i just comment on the rediculous wording of the article designed to cause panic (/ make money by people viewing adverts) for example: "Social networking websites are causing alarming changes in the brains of young users, an eminent scientist has warned." At no point does she say that it has been proven that such sites "are" causing changes, not having seen the who text of the actual interview its hard to get at exactly what she was talking about but even in the authors quotes the most she ever says is "my fear (is)". Im not saying such sites couldnt possibly be having a negative effect in some ways (and positive in others mind you) and thus it is a valid hypothesis which could be explored and valuable experimental data found - however this article is outrageous.
