My workplace burnt down this morning.

They might have been able to salvage some computers, but it depends how waterlogged the hard drives are. Other than that, everything in the building is ruined.

There are other places in the group where I can do my particular job but the people who work at this place will be out of work for some time.

Very bad timing.
