I read it mainly from within the forum.

But occasionly I go to the main site and read something that catches me eye.

    Re: Do you read Hexus.net?

tbh the reviews and articles are the reason I joined Hexus, but I tend to only check the homepage rather than each individual section of the site. I pretty much read every article though, unless I can tell from the headline that it really isn't going to interest me, and I check the homepage several times a day for new content. tbh, since I work in IT and am expected to be knowledgable about what's currently happening in the world of business technology, it's nice to have a one stop shop where I can pick up most of what I need to know

As to the lack of reviews, that could be a lack of new products - when did we last see a headline product launch from NVidia, for instance...

Is that the mobile 3-series that are actually lower energy versions of the new 2-series (DX10.1) cards?

I guess the problem with mobile graphics is that you can't test them until a manufacturer seeds you with a laptop that contains one - desktop cards are probably much easier to get review samples of. The fact that no-one's sent Hexus an Nvidia 300M containing laptop to test yet may tell us all we need to know

Oooh, yeah, I'd second that. I've tried to look something Hexusy up on my HTC Magic a couple of times and it's almost impossible to make good use of the site from a smartphone...

    Re: Do you read Hexus.net?

I always come to the Hexus forums via the front screen to have a quick scan over the headlines. Also, since the sidebar has been added to the site my readership of the articles has increased, as they throw up some interesting ones that don't make it to the front page.

The only part of the site that I don't really take part in, is the Hexus.TV broadcasts, not a huge lover of TV in general but the videos tend to suffer from seeming like a 10 minute infomertial rather than any kind of journalistic reporting. There's little attempt to question or challenge the way a product works, or highlighting it's flaws as well as it's weaknesses, something that the Reviews section is good at doing.

An iPhone app (a la' Engadget) would be luvvly jubbly!
I also agree with Lucio ragrding the Hexus.tv, never watch it myself.

I started here reading the reviews/etc then moved to the forums which I browse in no particular way. I check the homepage now & again but not very often, to be totally honest I'm not a fan of the layout, it looks cluttered (I didn't even know you could split news by CPU/GPU/etc until I just looked now!)

There does seem (IMO) to be a lack of exclusive content/reviews/firsts & a lot I have already read elsewhere 2 days before it hits Hexus.

My tastes will probably differ in that I no longer own a desktop & only game on a PS3 so I'd imagine I'm not your major audience. Being late twenties/family man with not a huge amount of time to mod anymore changes what I look for, I'm into new fancy gadgets, interesting sneak peaks of unreleased hardware with the od detailed tech thrown in.

Take for example a recent article on Techradar 'How HDDs are made' that was some interesting reading. It went into FAR too much detail that went over my head but it was nice to know a little more about it. I'd prefer that to 'Nvidia release a GPU which runs 1% faster than the old one' but as I said I very much doubt I'm target demographic for you.

I check the various hexus subsections all the time while at work - for work related reasons so I get to scour all the articles.

Some of the hexus.tv shows I watch at home with sound when the PC is busy doing other tasks

I don't know what the Engadget App gives you, but I don't see why it needs to be an app and can't just be a mobile skin for the website.

If there is a need for an app, then Android and WinMob and Blackberry versions would be needed as well.

I usually check the forums 2 or 3 times a day, and the main site 2 or 3 times a week. It's just not updated often enough to warrant more than that.

    Re: Do you read Hexus.net?

    Following the general consensus here.

Start at the front page, read most of the articles and reviews (let's face it, it's been an age since there were enough to tire you out), never bother reading the Business parts, don't watch Hexus.tv as, like Lucio said it's usually just an infomercial ("so tell me what's good about your product"), though Nick's always got some spark when I do watch the (very) odd show, normally during CES or something).

Sounds quite critical, but hopefully it's constructive.
