    yeeeoowww...!

i just sliced my middle finger with a knife and it doesn't half spout blood everywhere!!...since its a knife cut guessing steristrips would do the job after a saline wash, whos a nurse round here? it doens't hurt I just dont want the coroner to find the cause of death from bleeding out through a 1.5cm cut down finger...would be almost as imbarassing - but not quite - as that guy who got crushed by a falling boulder whilst he was trying to...erm...make an egg with the chicken..!
...bit more than choking it I'm sure.

I was just sorry for the chicken, think it got away - or at least went into the McDonalds food chain.

oops sorry, i digress - um, tips on pathing up cut ? (and not going to call vampire buddies round either)...

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

If we're talking about keeping things as clean as possible, I would wash the wound in saline (or salt water) with a capful of dis-infectant in there, then be sure to stop the bleeding with a piece of sterile gauze. Once the bleeding has stopped, apply some anti-septic ointment (savlon or germaline) onto a fresh plaster, and secure the plaster over the wound. Nice and tight... not so tight that it falls off/stretches, though! Change the dressing twice a day, for two to four days until the wound has closed nicely.

I could give a brief lecture on butterfly sutures and scar prevention, but I don't think a 10mm cut particularly warrants it!

just rub some sea salt into it. i sliced my finger at Reading last year and just rubbed some salt in it and it fizzed, hurt like hell, turned black and healed pretty quick. bearing in mind i was absolutley ar*eholed at that point in time, and should have been nowhere near sharp objects in the 1st place, i dont know if this solution will help. give it a go tho and video it
    peace

oooops the nurse is here now hows the finger?

I have to say though, nurses are totally crap at first aid cos they are so used to working in a hospital where there is a doctor usually on the ward and if not pretty close to hand via a bleep plus a treatment room stacked with all the stuff u need to treat someone....

nothing really to see anymore...hurting a bit now but guessing due to localised trauma etc.
I know about Theo's 'medical abilities' as he pm'd me an interesting, if slightly unnerving thread about a 'self-circ'...-umsision. fascinating yet nothing I'd ever consider.

Decided against a self frenectomy, btw chap. Got an appointment in June sometime to have a look at getting it sorted. There'll be pics of the results, etc, sometime this week. So check back if you're interested
