    A little help from the People of HEXUS to win $1000 for the Red Cross.

    It not often I ask much of the forum thats been my home for many a year , but like all good Evil Overloads , the time has come to ask for a small favour.

    I'm taking part in a blogging competition for some virtual infrastructure reporting software. If I "win" said competition , then I get absolutly nothing , however the Red Cross will be on the receving end of a $1000 gift certificate from http://www.charitygiftcertificates.org. So please have a look at my blog post below and download a copy of the software - its only a 90 Meg download which any Hexites running a virtual infrastructure will find pretty handy
    If you dont use Vmware software at all , but know someone who does , please pass the link onto them - I'd be really chuffed if I can actually win the competion and persuade my other half that blogging isn't just a silly waste of time ( not that she really thinks it , but it would justify the time I spend on twitter )

    if you dont fancy reading the post and just want to download the product as I've convinced you enough , then its available here..

    Looks interesting - is there a time limit on when we need to download by? I'm off on my jolies tomorrow and probably wouldn't download until I get back, but if you need the clickies in the next week or so I could grab it now...

    By helping the Red Cross win i am actively hurting the chances of another charity getting the $1000, i am not sure i want to play god like that.

    Maybe you would prefer the Boy Scouts of America to win

    If there is enough request for a different charity then I'll change it sadly the Charity Voucher site didn't have much in the way of non US Domestic Charities - If It was up to me , the Money would be going to either Bliss ( Charity for Premature Babies that my Paintball Team supports ) or CMAT ( Canadian Medical assistance team )

    I'll will still think it's a waste of time when you could be doing more interesting stuff like loading the dishwasher, but at least someone will benefit from it!

    Idiot questions ahoy;

    How do you win - is the number of unique (by IP?) downloads?

    Do we simply download the software or do we need to install?

    I believe it is on downloads , no requirement to install ( the app doesn't talk home )
    of course if you evaluate the product too I'm sure that would be a bonus

    Yoinked, I've been using FastSCP for ages, so I'll take a peek at this one too. Does it play nicely with ESXi?

    Well the Competition is over - I'm happy to say I came 5th out of 25 Entries. Sadly this means I dont win the $1000 dollars , but I did get a runners up prize of a $25 dollar certificate which will be winging its way to the red cross.
