Well I've been searching for a summer job for the past couple of weeks now. I've been applying for about 6 each day and finally I got some luck today. One of the job agencies I'm registered with offered me a job and I took it up straight away, so as of tomorrow I'm...

6am-2pm 6 days a week £5.50 an hour so I should have my grand overdraft paid off in under a month
not looking forward to the early starts though

so I go in, sort the mail out, then go post it...how hard can it be?

nice one, tbh i thought postman got a lot more than that (20k a year i heard??) but either way good on ya getting a job, i love my postie he always brings me loads of cool stuff, if i was on your round im sure id annoy you with me recieving of a minimum 2 parcels a day

yeah they probably do if you do if working all the time but this is just temporary student work over the summer. Not sure if they'll let me drive one of their shiny red vans but I'll ask

Guy I work with did the same thing your doing last summer and he got the post van and all! His brother wrote one off, convo went something like this -

"Are you hurt?"
-No
"Was anyone else hurt?"
-No
"Ok just fill in this form and we'll see you again tomorrow!"

Just make sure and get a small black and white stuffed cat

congratulations there Its good craick in the post office...

I did my work experience all those years ago in the post office. now THAT was slave labour. Everybody else got to hang around local offices making coffee. I was running around with the posties sack, while the old geezer walked with me, AND I made the coffee.

and it was for free... AND... well. Suppose my day ended by 12pm.. not really a brilliant benefit..

But congrats on the job.. shame you'll be to knackered to watch euro 2004 !!

post men are getting slack these days. Yesterday the postie dint have a uniform on, and couldnt be bothered to bring a package to my door so just posted a card, and i asked hi if he had it with him and he said it was up in the sorting office! then today the mail didnt arrive till 3.30!
