What I did on the weekend

the interview on Friday seemed to go OK, so now I'm sitting and sweating. Hopefully the call should be sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Two PCs at home had a Trojan. (trojan.gen dropper something something) MSSE missed it completely, but one of my regular scans with SuperAntiSpyware picked it up. Seems to have been an exploit of Adobe Reader. I used to use Foxit, but it never worked with Firefox and I eventually went back to Adobe. More fool me I guess.

So, what is the PDF alternative that works with FF ? Or is it time to bin FF ?

Foxit works with Firefox It was my preferred combination for years.

Never worked for me. If you tried to open a document in the browser it would just fail.
What are you using now ?

Chrome and Acrobat 9 Pro Not so helpful for you.

I do suggest you give Foxit another go with whichever browser you settle on now though.

No news yet. feedback was supposed to be yesterday, but they've been held up as they're also trying to fill two other IT Mgmt roles and their not happy with the selected Head of Procurement.

I've been for a couple of job interviews myself over the last couple of weeks. The one I had two weeks ago is still ongoing. I didn't think it would pay much going be the job advert (none was advertised, and thought it would be about the same or less than I was on now), but was surprised right at the end of the interview when I enquired to the salary and he said it would be 10k more than I'm currently on! I didn't think the interview went particularly well, but I'm still in the running apparently. My mate from work also applied and had his interview a couple of days after me, so I briefed him on what to expect, and it sounds like he did better.

However, the interview I went for last Thursday offered me the job Friday, and I start next week! I am now having to wait on admin at my current job (RAF) to let me go a bit earlier than planned (a month earlier). Chances are I'll just put leave in next week and go to my new job until they catch up...
