    Parcel2go claims

I have just sent a laptop to laptopsdirect claims dept as part of a promotion. I used parcel2go and it was sent via TNT, the parcel was allegedly delivered but the person who signed for it doesn't work for laptops direct and the signature on the docket is surprisingly just a squiggle and they have confirmed they haven't had the laptop.

I paid £25 for the delivery with the extra insurance of £300 and parcel2go have rejected my claim by saying it has been delivered and giving the same details as above. I have made a complaint regarding this but at the moment I am getting a wall of silence. Reading other experiences on the internet of the claims process I don't hold out much hope but have given them until the end of the week to at least acknowledge they are looking into further.

Should they not reply any suggestions what I should do next? I suppose I have the option of the small claims court.

    Thanks

    Re: Parcel2go claims

If they have delivered it to the wrong address that is their problem and one that they are responsible for. I'd put a bit more pressure on them and if they don't respond then you know the next step.

I had a similar problem with UK Mail, They insisted that they had delivered to me and nobody was in, When there was actually 3 of us home all day. They then said the driver had left it under the bush next to the front door but, I had no bushes in the front garden at all. They were very unhelpful and claimed as it was delivered it was not their problem. After about 2 weeks and I was about to do something about it, A neighbour brought the parcel to me and said it had been given to him by his mother in law who had been given the parcel by someone else. So I was still none the wiser where they had left it.

Took me almost 3 months to get comp from them after the laptop I sent to my sister came back to me utterly smashed. It was very well packaged, had neighbours who signed for it & was collected from them sign letters stating the box was in good condition!

I was livid and had to send dozens and dozens of emails! Good luck mate, don't let them fob you off.

Small claims is always an option, only £25, but make sure you give parcels2go every option to make ammends first!

In fact, a manager from parcels2go signes up to hexus and posted in my thread when I went through this. He was helpful. Look through my old threads for my parcels2go on, around 14months ago I think. I would but I'm on my phone through tapatalk!

    Re: Parcel2go claims

Well after calling parcel2go today and speaking to somebody who didn't seem at all interested and advised they would look into but refused to confirm they would re-open my claim. I actually discovered where it had been delivered to on the same industrial estate but the wrong address it just happened to be another laptop company and the owner was the name who signed for it. I called him and he confirmed he had received several laptops incorrectly via parcleforce for laptopsdirect. When I told him it had been delivered on 30/04 he advised he would ahve a look around for it. Lets hope it turns up

    Re: Parcel2go claims

Have you informed Parcel2go that they have delivered it to the wrong place? You now have enough proof to make them responsible for it.

surely then if this guy knew he was receiving laptops in error he would take them to the right place since he was in the area.

The fact he knows he is getting them in error and he tells you "he will look around for it" and see if it's still there implies to me that he is keeping goods he is knowingly receiving in error.

It does not change the fact that Parcel2go delivered to the wrong address but this other guy seems dodgy to me.

    Re: Parcel2go claims

Write 2 or 3 letters recorded delivery explain what is the issue and then give them 14 days to resolve this if not you have no option to apply for small claims court order, don't waste your time ringing them.

I would also try and EMAIL the guy who confirmed he had received the laptops in area, and try and get his confirmation in writing. That is proof that parcel2go are responsible. We already know they are inept!

    Re: Parcel2go claims

Why did you go to Parcel2Go when they forwarded it through TNT? Surely speaking directly to TNT and requesting that the driver uplift the wrongly delivered package and redelivered it to the correct address would have resulted in a faster outcome because by going to Parcel2Go they will then have to go through their claims department who will then have to contact someone at TNT who will then pass it forward to the correct delivery center etc etc.... Always go directly to the shipper and not the forwarding company if you have a problem

I have done this and initially they apologised and advised the depot would call me in an hour. Nothing so called them the next day and they advised they have to have authority from parcel2go as they are the courier and they had emailed them, which is a waste of time.

I called the person again where it was delivered incorrectly last Friday and he hasn't been able to find it. He has another warehouse across the road and will look there and advised me to callback Wednesday. There is no point them trying to pick it up it he says he can't find it. I will then have to report as stolen to police if he cannot find on wednesday when I call back.

    Re: Parcel2go claims

I sent my laptop to laptopdirectclaims too. I feel you have an uphill climb, my friend. After waiting for 6 weeks Opia ltd (the third party running the promotion told me my claim was not valid and no further communication would be entered into). My claim was valid and a court case is looming. The address I used was
LaptopsDirectClaims, Unit 8-11, Garngoch Industrial Esate, Gorseinon, Sawnsea, SA49WG. It is part of the address of of Trojan electronics, a pc repair firm in Wales.

It took my ages to get any communication with them, and they sent me around in circles.

Well, what can I say. I have been there, and know of two others who have also been there. We have ALL been denied our laptops ...and we jumped through all the hoops with validated claims etc.

You will eventually deal with Opia ltd, the third party who deal with the promotion.

You will need help.....I have all contact details and email addresses of those you will need to contact...trust me, you will find it hard work when Opia find a fault with your claim.

    And they will.

    Goodluck.
