Hmm but that is the portrayal in a paper that is aimed at woman, rather than men, I thought that was the sad truth about the mail online sucsess it has all these "diana 2.0" ladies on the right hand side, which are mostly clicked on by ladies.

I've not known many straight men to say "pfft that famous lady is fat". I have heard them say "generic insinuation about sexual relations with that lady".

That is ultimately the difference, men tend to complement, in a 'degrading' manner, woman tend to just be more snide.

But as said, this is a case of 25% are assholes.

Re: Step away from the keyboard....

The day we have sexual equality in this country is the day I buy I a gun to stick to my head, because the ONLY way it will happen is if we start reproducing by hermaphraditic budding and there is NO biological difference between male and female. What we have got to accept is that there are differences but they don't make one sex better than the other, just functionally more suited to certain types of tasks. Tall men are generally better at basketball... we don't see the NBA setting height quotas as it's just a nonsense.

Personally I think the real issue stems from the fact that in the post feminist revolution period, women were sold the lie that they could have everything that they want, which just isn't feasible. The irony being it was and still is women perpetuating this myth. So yes women are their own worst enemy...

    We're all sold lies.
I have never bought a 'glossy' magazine (Motorcycles and PC hardware being the only exception) because I can recognise poison. Many of our current ills are due to the unrealistic expectations in terms of consumerism and attractiveness have been vilely manipulated.

For me, I am incredibly proud to have survived, and to have reached a middle-class lifestyle. I've never skied or owned a huge watch, and couldn't give a fig. However, I do understand the rage against the toxicity of this stuff. Rightly so in my book.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Wow, I don't even know what to say.

I know they've been carefully picked, but there is an awful lot of sexism and hate there, maybe someone should link the author of the link in the OP?

But you are an odd one, I don't think that will be representative.

    Really?

As far as I can tell from that page, which basically takes a load of quotes from Mumsnet and presents them entirely without context, there has been a bit of aggro between Fathers For Justice and various women on Mumsnet. Presumably some or all of the people involved have been personally involved in custody battles after acrimonious breakups.

I know from various threads on this very forum that there are women who withold access to children to hurt or manipulate their ex-partners.

But at the same time, many of the men involved in F4J have provably been convicted of domestic violence, which is presumably why their exes don't want them having access to the kids. Remember my theory, which is that approx 25% of people of both sexes are arseholes.

Quite why this is quoted on that page as an example of misandry I'm unsure:

I'm a horrible vindictive ex. I stopped my X from having contact apart from on my terms. Why? Because he kicked our then-just-turnedfour- year-old son. So I took steps to ensure that he could never be abusive to our DC or me ever again. But apparently that makes me an evil bitch who is treating him unfairly and denying him fair contact.
I personally think that denying contact to a man who would kick a four year old kid is entirely reasonable.

If you don't I'd be interested to know why?

I think the issue with it was the fact that they were being abusive towards all men/all members of fathers for justice.
And I'm sure there are many men, and many members of F4J who are perfectly nice, yet they're being stereotyped no?

    Edit:
And since it was earlier, what are peoples opinions on the Women getting paid the same as the Men in Wimbledon?

Like I said, I really did read the entire page without once feeling that I, as a man, and a self righteous one at that, was having my gender impugned.

Women are as capable as men of suffering the endurance test of playing 5 sets. Make them play 5 sets and then earn the same. Fair's fair.

Well, good for you I guess, neither did I if I'm honest, but I can see how others would, just because one person doesn't find something offensive (in this case to their gender) doesn't stop it being offensive.

I don't see why the write bothered to write this article. What was she trying to do by doing so? I don't think she has changed anybody by uploading it. You don't have to vent your frustration on society on the internet, it's life, deal with it. And I also see she has very credible resources. 'A glossy magazine at random' where an article was apparently a credible resource for her.
