I just read an article on the BBC news about the o2 outage and its made me a bit irrationally angry. Not at the o2 outage (I'm on o2 typing this on my phone) but at the article itself and the insistence on using tweets. What do I care what some pleb on twitter says, they can't type more than a limited set of words so what are the chances they are going to have anything meaningful to say in relation to the article. Tweets don't even usefully give a general feeling of what 'everyone' thinks, they're not scientific and very rarely are they even factual, so why use them in a news article.
The BBC used to be better, they used to be a reliable source of information about what's happening in the world. Why can't journalists do the job they're paid for instead of padding out their flimsy articles with unimportant yammering.
