ugh ! slugs in bathroom !!

    Hi,

ok recently.. past few weeks or so, keep getting slogs in the bathroom

these range from tiny 1/2cm ones to huge mothers ! .. ugh...

always near the toilet either on the floor or climbing up the walls...

i have no idea how they get in.. any ideas ?

and more importantly how do i get rid of them ?

they must come and go or something as i never notice them in the mornings just at night.. just notice 2 big mothers just this second .... ugh again !!

Well Slugs cant move over loose surfaces like gravel or wood chippings as the particles stick to them and they cant get any purchase to wiggle along.....

To kill: Salt dries them up and kills them.

    as does fire

One of the worst things that ever happened to me was stepping on a slug barefoot .....i felt it pop between my toes......

    Kill 'em all....

    Do you think when Jesus comes back..... he ever wants to see another cross.......? *{God bless you Bill}

Any windows you leave open? Holes in the wall? Im having a massive problem with massive spiders over here, they are about 8-10cm across. I know there is one living behind my desk as i saw it tonight but it dissapeared before i could catch it.

put toilet roll all around the edges of the room.

They can't cross it, they get stuck, so at least you'll know where they are coming from.

Check your outside wall, where all the waste pipes come through the brickwork. Are there any gaps between said pipe and brick? Favourite entry point for slugs.

    no snail trail unfortunatly

always by the far corner of the bathroom by the toilet but distance wise can never tell exactly where they come from..

i guess its safe to assume even the big one scan squeeze through the tinyest gaps in the wall ? as there are no huge holes that i can see unless its like on the underside of the toilet ?

hmm i'll clean the walls later and mabye that will show the trial more clearly

i've acually had to get so used to them i just grab a bit of tissue grab it and chuck it down the toilet !

Yup, they'll squeeze through any hole - provided it's damp. Silicon sealant did the job for me when I had this problem in a rented house.

Came downstairs at 3am after having a bath (I'd gone a bit nocturnal), went into the kitchen in the dark and burst one - nothing like the feel of slug guts between your toes...

Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Lay a line of slug pellets along the length of the outside wall for a few weeks. Soon put 'em off

They used to crawl out from under our fridge in the kitchen. God only knows how they got under there in the first place. Why can't they stay oustside eating plants? Why do they bother crawling into houses?

I never popped one, but I did kill one by stepping on it wearing socks- yuck!

I made a wasp trap a couple of weekends ago (empty jam jar with jam in filled up half way) and it not only has wasps but slugs and snails in it...

Is this a downstairs bathroom? Otherwise that must be some trek for them!

I also trod on a slug with a flip flop on, it's really hard to get slug off the sole

There's a thin person in every fat person.....that's because they just ate them.
