Drink lots of water...As Rob said it might be dehydration
Drink coffee ... actually works to get read of headaches, those Migraine Ibuprofen Honoop contain caffine
Stress ... don't stress, it gives you headaches.
Stop staring at computer screens, and don't play computer games. Very bad for your eyes, and your head.
Hope it's gone by now though...
Yeah, I've had precisely one stab today and it's not come back. Fingers crossed. I also drink coffee by the pint, I drank so much my heart rate started speeding up on Tuesday

Rave I know how you feel, I get about 3 - 5 a week with the odd major head banging migrane just to add to it once a week, had them since i was 12 so thats the last 11 years, doctors don't have a clue what causes them so I have to put up with them. So far though I have found that if I chew on the left side of my mouth wih a bit of gum calms the headache.
Rich,
Have you had a eye sight test recently, could be eyestrain?

Try to relax a bit, I dunno if that has been mentioned before since I didn't check that well. But you know stress can cause a lot of trouble, I'm getting headaches now and then..and that's because I'm having a hard time to relax, so then I get this headaches.
Otherwise if that won't work, try to see a doc.
Good Luck!

Anyone ever had those headaches where it just feels like a bolt of lightening across your head. Then thats it, for months. lol maybe im just wierd.
I have replied here to keep that other thread on topic.
How often do you take ibuprofen?
If you consume a large quantity, or a smaller dose over a sustained period, you will develop headaches as a side effect. How much depends on the individual but it is a very common side effect seen in people who take ibuprofen over sustained periods.
You should really go to your doctor asap.
Just a thought but do you sleep OK? Whenever I get headaches regularly it's because I'm not sleeping, which is in turn usually either 'cos I'm stressed (Uni project was a bit of a killer for example) or I'm not getting enough fresh air and exercise (boring I know).
In a funny way having my car blow up (timing belt failure at 80+mph) so I have to cycle everywhere has done wonders for exercise and thus sleep. (except on a sodding Sunday evening, when Southwest Trains decide that they'd rather be a bus company than a rail companythat doesn't do anything for my stress levels)
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
When I get normal headaches I just ignore them.
I think if you take any pain killers your body probably gets used to them.. well they cant be good for you if you take them too often... and i dont mind small amount of pain.
I hardly either get headaches anyway - usually only when Ive forced myself not to sleep (to goto work for example, after spending all night finnishing coursework) or when I get really stressed - which does happen quite a lot..
Everyone else I know gets them a lot more. I think maybe its becuase im used to small headaches I dont notice them as much.. and there not.
For bad headaches, even really very bad ones, I find VERY loud music always helps. quiet music doesnt help, makes it worse, maybe Im just wierd, but it works very well for me.
Most days to a greater or lesser extent. I have been trying to mix in some Paracetamol so I didn't develop too much of a tolerance to the Ibuprofen, but if they're actually causing the headaches in the first place I'll try just taking paracetamol from now on.Originally Posted by Event Horizon
The headaches seem to come and go- I'll have one every day for a few months, then I'll be fine for a few months, then they come back again etc.

No, I'm terrible; usually the only time I'm not tired is between 12 and 2am, which is exactly when I should be going to sleep. I rarely get more than 6 hours sleep TBH, although I'm going to have to start forcing myself to go to bed as tiredness badly affects my concentration at work.Originally Posted by stytagm
Thing is though, when I do get a good night's sleep, I generally get a worse headache the next day than I would if I was tired. Go figure.
I don't do a lot of specific exercise but I run a mile to the station pretty much every day because I'm always late! It keeps me fit enough.
