Erk! Have YOU lost an 'ability'?

Now we all have those moments where we have a complete brain blank on something... like how to spell a simple word like 'door' or something, but have you actually totally LOST the ability to do something which used to be seond nature to you.

Ages ago I used to work at an airfield and EVERYTHING had to be filled out in BLOCK CAPITALS... 18 months of this I lost the ability to write in lower case joined up... I just can't do it. I tried a while back and as soon as I forgot to concentrate on keeping it lower case I was straight back into capitals.

My handwriting had regressed back to when I first tried to do joined up.. I had even forgotten HOW to write some letters and join them up!

In this day and age of IT, you'd think that not being able to write in lower case wouldn't be a problem.... hmmm?

Ever tried to write your e-mail address down for someone?

Any idea which case e-mail addresses are in?

Yep, there's me, numpty of the world, scribbling donw my e-mail address and then having to TELL people to enter it in lower case and the explain that I CAN'T write in anything but upper case!

Yep, everyday is a new way to embarass myself...

I can't really write anymore. All the forms that have had to be filled in over the last month for uni i've had to get my mum to do. I simply can't do it without concentrating really really hard and even then it's extremely scruffy. It's because i don't handwrite whatsoever anymore, i'm always on a keyboard.

I've always written in capitals since my last year or so at school and it got me in no end of trouble. If I try writing lower case joined up now it just looks like the proverbial spider dipped in ink and let loose.

I've also lost the ability to write properly.

My handwriting was never good in the first place so as soon as my teachers found out i had a computer and could type they insisted that all homework should be done on the computer (this was about 12 years ago)

I pity the poor people who had to mark my exams when i was at Uni.

yup me too.. can't write properly for toffee... I can't print either, which IS wierd.. my upper case scrawl has somehow joined up.....

I've never been able to write joined up legibly. Its the old ink pot + epileptic spider stylee.

I used to be able to do 2:09.8 second laps in the GTR demo. Since i went on holiday and came back, bugger me if i cant even do a 2:10

lost the ability to write and spell properly - keep having to stop myself writing in internet slang.

eg replacing to with 2 almost everywhere, and at with @ etc etc, ive got word setup to auto correct these atm so its ok for when i'm doing reports, but on the rare occasions i hand write stuff [i can type faster than I can write neatly] theres no auto correct function
