    Hersheys chocolate - a real American chocolate bar(not)

    I actually bought a bar the other day to try something a bit different,as it was in the US section of the local Tesco. Low and behold it seems for the European market bars are made in China but still with the glorious markup for US made sweets. Fail.

    It looks like Tesco(and possibly others) are selling bars made for the Asian market.

    I suppose it means they have a better markup then!!

    not nice chocolate at all. They also do a toffee thing that tastes like arse too.

    You can make american chocolate easily at home, take normal chocolate and mix in sawdust until finished.

    Whilst in Las Vegas I tried M&Ms. Omg they where unbelievably dreadful... so bad infact I threw them away... I NEVER waste chocolate :-D

    Cadbury's chocolate went the same way when it was bought out - substitute corn syrup for cane sugar and you have the authentic American taste.

    I'll double check a label, but from my memory of the process (which by the way is different to the way all other chocolate is made) it isn't actually feasible to use corn syrup...
