what instruments can Hexites play?

Just wondering how many folk on here play a musical instrument(s), and what kinds.

(Short and sweet posts please, this isn't the thread to boast about how you custom fitted your 69 tele with Kluxon heads and a reverse-scoop trem mount... you know who you are )

I can play the piano, but I haven't in at least a couple of years. I was a very reluctant student as a child, and spent a good 10 years going through all the grades and so on. Now the thought of playing fills me with dread. Quite a few friends have complained to me about it the past, because they can't understand why you'd have the ability and not bother using it, but I can't see what's enjoyable right now. I always imagine I'll come back to it at some point though.

I'm a semi-pro horn player and singer (does that count as an instrument?!), and can make some kind of attempt at bashing the piano.

I have several friends who are pro singers, and they assure me it can be an instrument. (Winning Karaoke once does not count however...)

Drums - Yamaha Maple Custom kit and an Arbiter Flats Pro kit, Sabian cymbals, Gibraltar hardware, Promark and Vic Firth sticks.

I also play on just about any surface that sounds good.
The front edge of a keyboard makes a great snare for in-office performances!

Or are we only counting instruments that take years of learning and dedication to be able to play sufficiently?

Same position - although it took me 2 years to get to grade 2. It's only now that it has become useful; I'm doing a music tech course in my College.

More difficult than it sounds - if you've only got one note to play, it HAS to be in the right place ar it'll be just awful


For my part I play trumpet, but can aquit myself decently on pretty much any valved or natural brass. Had a go at a saxophone - managed to get a decent scale out of it, but you wouldn't call it playing, and I've just started on the ukulele (which is improving, but still not very clever).
