    How to type Korean?

A bit of a strange one, I received a hand written letter posted in person in what I think is Korean. I've included an image of the first line of the letter below. I thought I'd try and type some of it into a translator however even using the Windows on screen keyboard in Korean I can't work out how to make the characters, some of which seem to be a grouping of multiple characters together.

Any tips, without actually having to learn Korean?

It will probably be a massive anti-climax if I do manage to translate it, but I'm curious so I thought I'd give it a go.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I'd probably try using OCR rather than trying to hand-type a different alphabet.

There are some online ones, but of course it would be worth considering if the content of the letter is private etc.

    Re: How to type Korean?

There's an image that did the rounds a year or two ago that I have bookmarked on my home PC that shows how to interpret Korean (it's a remarkably simple ^written language all things considered, not that I have learned any of it).

You could try pumping it through Google Goggles on your phone, that's translated some stuff for me in the past.

    Re: How to type Korean?

It is indeed Korean (Hangul). OilSheikh's answer is probably the simplest, but if you can spare and hour or so, it is quite interesting to learn how it is made up. You can draw them on Google translate: -

    Re: How to type Korean?

If you got a smartphone or tablet, I think there should be some sort of handwriting app to write Korean as I know a friend's Samsung smart phone he has a Korean keyboard app installed to write.

    Re: How to type Korean?

Thanks for the suggestions all, I tried some of the online OCR websites and the results weren't great, probably built for printed text rather than handwriting, and the apps I could find wouldn't do Korean without buying the paid version.

However I am having success with drawing the characters on Google translate, I didn't know this feature existed but it works pretty nicely, but it's slow though, hard to tell where one character ends and the next starts! I've just got through the first line and it translates as "I'm sorry, my Korean is not very good". I have to head out now so I'll finish the rest later.

Here's that PDF on how to start reading Korean, it's quite good, despite the comic styling:
