Just banned a spammer. Had to delete someone else's post in the spam thread first though.

Please just report spam, dont comment in the thread

Just to amplify...

We (the mod/admin team) do scan new posts for spam. However if we see a thread where the last post is a known name, we might overlook it! So commenting on a spam thread might give it a veneer of respectability (for a short time ). Reporting a post though will alert all moderators of the forum.

That said (and I know we have said it before) we really do appreciate all the reports. We can't be on the boards 24x7, so all reports are welcome.

The fact that HEXUS is largely spam free is because of the vigilance of all the community, so

In my defence I was only insulting the spammer but will remember for future

I have a feeling that I was also one of the people responsible for adding to the posts that was giving credibility to that spam post, so point noted. I have previously reported spam and I think that in this particular case I saw the post as harmless, it was somewhat confusing, but appeared to be harmless enough anyway.
