I actually have 2 for the letter I - debating on which one, or if I'd just double post. One is 80's, one is so early 90's that it may as well be the 80's. And both rock on a very serious level.

hint - one is from Rising Force w/ Jeff Scot Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen) and the other is an 'oldie' from Steve Vai. But I'm really liking the direction this thread is going. Hope we get some more input, and maybe something a bit more esoteric.

Guess i'll post again to keep the thread going, seems were getting stuck on a few letters this time round, I suspect that's going to pick up around the middle though. Still trying to work the band I like in somehow too, we'll see how that goes.


I was stuck choosing between this or Skillet's Hero, but I think the guitar riff is much nicer in this song. Hero feels a bit too heavy.

Here's an I from the band I've been meaning to plug. I don't think its necessarily their best guitar track, but its one of the stronger tracks overall, though it might be a bit heavy compared to the rest of the stuff in this thread. Its hard finding good guitar music from my generation, but I don't wanna just be posting old iconic stuff that everyone has already heard anyway.



Note: He's actually saying "Fall" at the start, not that you can tell.

I was also considering Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song for I until I listened back and realised its the same few notes over and over with an occasional bar shift.

Should have done Immigrant Song by Dread Zeppelin And while there aren't a lot of what *I* would consider good hard rocking groups these days, the ones that are there are quite good - A7X, Disturbed, Godsmack, Alien Ant Farm and the Atari's (sort of)...
