    Re: is Trump for real?

I'm seeing more and more headlines and statuses talking about simply not voting if Trump is chosen - based on principle and having nothing to do with voting in any candidate so far away from one's own views.
Still others think Cruz has a chance if Rubio drops out soon enough so that the vote isn't split. There's word saying Trump wins open primaries but Cruz wins closed primaries, which might indicate the 'true' Republican voters aren't voting for Trump.

    Re: is Trump for real?

I still contend Trump is not a bad choice. I mean he's a terrible choice, but from the candidates running he's the least worst. Cruz would be a disaster for the free world. Hilary might be worse.

Trump will probably go to the Convention as the leading candidate, but I'd expect some shenanigans there.

    Re: is Trump for real?

None of the candidates even feel like they should be people responsible for the highest office of the USA. So far, it feels more like watching a bunch of reality TV show "stars" battle it out.

The worst part is watching the same effects trickle into UK politics, with all the media focus going onto a handful of flashy idiots, rather than people with a genuine message and desire to change things for the people.

    Re: is Trump for real?

There's a meme doing the rounds that purports Trump to have said that if he were to run, it would be for the Republicans, as they are 'The dumbest group of voters', but it turns out it's false:

    Re: is Trump for real?

I think Trumps success has a lot to thank from Hillary. She cuddles up to the left leaning, politically correct, twitter/tumblr winging, social justice "progressive" (Personally I prefer "regressive") crowd that seem to be able to drive the policies of both media and government through false claims of bigotry, racism and discrimination. Almost contradictorily, she's also just yet another wash and repeat corporate funded mouthpiece. Her policies are horrendous, but no-one cares because, you know, "its 2016".
I think people have no interest in the government pushing policies telling them what they can/cant think or say and are sick of politics being driven by the interest of the big corporations, so just the same as Corbyn in the UK (albeit different parts of the spectrum), they are looking to the extremes to shake things up.

Trump is about as extreme as you can get without basically having a crazy dictator, but this isnt the first time we have seen people who are pushed into a corner fight back and elect someone without really thinking of the long term consequences....
John Oliver is an utter moron, does he really think he can fight a man who spends his time being bigoted and making brash claims by calling him stupid names? Fighting fire with a lightly smaller fire will only feed more into Trumps hands. Honestly, what a clumsy dumbass.

Honestly, America might aswell just pull the plug and let the country sink into the sea if the choice is between these two clowns.

    Re: is Trump for real?

This one has been doing the rounds on Facebook, which if the starting figure of 200 million from daddy is correct, seems factually correct given stock market growth of ~ 7/8% annually over a 45 year span.

    Re: is Trump for real?

I wouldn't be surprised if the anti-Mexican/Muslim rhetoric evaporated overnight if Trump became President.

He is a ruthless opportunist and his controversial approach has starved the others of much needed oxygen media wise, but I get the impression he enjoys creating a storm rather than truly believing in what he's saying.

To be honest, what I've heard about Cruz makes me shudder. If Trump tones it down to win the middle ground and has Kasich for VP, then it could be a pretty straight forward face off between Trump and Clinton with all her baggage.

    Re: is Trump for real?

Trump could revive America. Hell obama was the worst and had all the makings of a dictator! Continuous executive orders, ex judicial killings of american citizens, punitive punishments for anyone who crosses him personally look what happened to dinesh d'souza. Obamas speech techniques straight from Goebbels playbook.
I would be more worried by the hunchback of vermont aka bernimodo he is the king of mediocrity. Also Hillary is dangerous.
