yes I know internet banking is a 'thing' nowadays, but its easier doing stuff in branch talking to real people.
You tried First Direct? Internet bank BUT UK call Centre manned by lovely & helpful people. No 25 button phone menu to fight through first either, answered by a real British person! They have also just brought out voice recognition security, avoiding the need for security questions!

Good range of products including current account/e-saver and regular saver (6%). Easy access via phone/tablet app/computer or telephone. They also give you £100 for joining (this sometimes is £125 via moneysavingexpert site)... and they have a 90+% customer satisfaction rating. I switched from crappy Barclay's and have been nothing short of delighted with FD, they are superb. I also have products with HSBC (who own FD) and Halifax - FD are the best by a country mile...

FD also offer a switching service to take the pain put of switching bank, which moves your direct debits etc. See the First Direct website for T&Cs. Couldn't be easier really. Only thing to bear in mind is that you have to pay in at least £1000/month to the current account (or maintain a balance >1000 or hold another one of their products to avoid an account fee). They also offer various additional benefits through their 'First Directory'.

To close, I am in no way affiliated with FD, just a very satisfied customer - they really are the best kept secret of banking - if you've not tried them, you're missing out on a truly hassle free experience!

    wont help one bit.
need a physical premises I can go into. theres reasons why i've still got £5 left of the £10 I last topped up on my phone back at the start of 2012.

thanks for the FD review though

back to the thread topic: (kind of)

the next few weeks are going to be fun. they're replacing the gas mains for the entire area, main roads going to be dug up, as are peoples front gardens to replace their pipes. there's a few houses only just had their driveways block paved . everythings being plasticified (its a word ) unsure whether ours will need redoing. it was plasticified about 15 years ago.
does mean I wont be having any fried eggs and bacon for a while

and my amps very good for cleaning dust off the ceiling in the room below

Weekly routine changes every week as I'm always at a different location working. This one is a bit of pain as it's an hour and a half to get to. Room is freezing but they're keeping us well stocked with tea and biscuits so I'd say it averages out.

Going to a works quiz on Thursday, which is a dangerous game as beer and wine are on the tables, but it should be a good laugh either way.

Pretty standard graft apart from that though. Anyone else got anything interesting coming up?

    Re: 'Sup Saturday?

Saturday took the dogs for their 6 month de-fluff, shopping, booked a holiday, played Rocket League and watched a couple of episodes of Gotham, my current guilty pleasure. Reheated chinese takeaway in the evening. Fairly good.

    Sunday was balls, equilibrium restored.

    its Saturday again!

    still tidying up 'media area'

yes, that is a VHS, still works so why dump it?

all looks glorious on the 24" JVC 1080p screen. i'm waiting until new hisense range is out in UK, then deciding what to upgrade to.
    mainly this one http://www.amazon.com/Hisense-55H9B2...rds=hisense+4k
    should be good enough

nearly everything is controlled via that old plusnet router via wifi on its own mini network, no internet on it, via an Asus memo HD7 ME173x.

figuring out kodi next, so can access rest of home networks media.

and you should see the massive pile of cables I have spare.
