    Advice for you to share....

Many years ago a list of items for a father to advise his son on was published.

the one I ALWAYS remember is: NEVER WASH YOUR CAR IN THE DARK

But this week I can add a new one.

If, like me, you often close the lid of your laptop when you move from meeting to meeting, in your workplace with a good wifi signal....
an IF like me you use a wireless mouse....

Don't carry the mouse in your pocket, active, because you ARE capable, somehow, of sending all the template emails you've been working on, but not sent yet..... to all the recipients, in their utterly unfinished state, ... SOME that ended mid sentence with no spell check

And with that advice therefore, come the old "don't type something you may regret"

I didn't do that part.. so all was well.. but still....

    Warning over

    smooth!

Have your computer lock (and maybe sleep, as heating up laptops in bags isn't good either) on lid close.

And more importantly, have it require password on wake up, or the mouse action might wake it up despite the lid being closed.

Alternatively, turn off your wireless mouse when you're not using it? Since that way you save batteries too?

Outlook spell check before send not only helps the format , but generally gives you a "are you really sure you want to send this mail" check.

Re: Advice for you to share....

This is why all my draft emails are closed if I'm not actively working on them, far less chance of hitting send too soon when you're getting distracted.

Especially when I'm desperately trying to think of a politically correct way of saying "are you insane? Why on earth would it work like that!"
